Trax Tire Chain
When tire chains are needed for a vehicle, weather conditions are usually at their worst with extremely cold temperatures, often accompanied by winds, snowing, and icy roads. The normal procedure for installing snow chains requires that the vehicle be rolled onto the chains. It is good practice to approach these areas with caution. As tires roll along the surface of the road, the chains make contact and through friction, cause the vehicle to gain a substantial amount of traction. Installing standard show chains is a time consuming, cumbersome, and generally unpleasant experience that requires getting in and out of the vehicle three times to complete the entire process. This may require that the person installing the chains lay down on the cold, wet ground, which is covered by snow on the shoulder of a busy roadside. Often you will not need chains to drive over a thin or chopped layer of snow but if directed you should fit them. Black ice often forms in shady areas or over bridges. You should only put chains on if there is snow or ice on the road. Anyone who has ever been stuck in a soft-traction situation has wished for this product.

A new aspect that we show here is the availability of something other than traditional chains. In extreme conditions chains may need to be fitted to the drive wheels of your vehicle due to snow or ice on the road. Made by Peerless Chain Company, these SnoTrac traction cables for light-truck applications are ideal for our long-term GMC Sierra. It can eventually lead to road scrapes, pot holes, and early repaving of otherwise perfect highways.
Finally, a safe, lightweight, durable, easy-to-use and highly effective traction pad is available to protect motorists from most soft-traction emergencies! Even the most careful driver can become stuck, and it always happens when you can least afford it.
